Flipkart appoints Seema Nair as its Chief human resources officer (CHRO). Seema will manage Flipkart's HR department in close collaboration with the corresponding executives and HR departments.

Smriti Krishna Singh was named CHRO of Flipkart in 2018, but she left the company in 2019. Krishna Raghavan later took over in this capacity; in January 2020, he was promoted to chief people officer.

Last year, Krishna departed from the organization. Throughout a nearly three-decade career, Nair has significantly impacted several industries, including manufacturing, FMCG, retail, and information technology.

Seema managed group-level duties while serving as the head of the group HR office and head of group HR digitization at Reliance Industries for more than six years before joining Flipkart. She oversaw learning and development, talent and leadership, DE&I, employer branding, and employee communications for the hydrocarbons and affiliated businesses while serving as the head of the people development group in the past.

Seema believes that an organization's success is mostly determined by its people, leadership, culture, and strong business plan

Seema previously held the position of CHRO for India and SAARC at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, where she substantially impacted supply chain productivity and sales retention.

She had several local and international HR positions before serving as Cisco Systems' CHRO for India and SAARC during her nearly nine-year term. Previously, Nair worked for Hughes Software Services, Microland Group, Intel Corporation, and Crompton Greaves. She graduated from XLRI Jamshedpur with an MBA with a focus on human resources. Nair actively participates in the D&I and MSME committees at the Bombay Chamber of Commerce.

Seema believes that an organization's success is mostly determined by its people, leadership, culture, and strong business plan.
