After a huge fire this Monday, Apple supplier Foxlink ceased production at its assembly plant in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and evacuated 400 of its employees.

Apple iPhone cables are made by Foxlink. According to J Ramanaiah, who is in charge of the state's Tirupati district's Disaster Response and Fire Services Department, the facility's machinery suffered damage to the tune of 50 percent, and half of the structure fell.

The facility's management has estimated damage at one billion Indian rupees ($12 million), emphasizing that no one was hurt.

According to J Ramanaiah, who is in charge of the fire services department for the Tirupati area in the state, the fire started in the afternoon and damaged almost 50 percent of the factory's gear.

To determine the cause of the fire, a group made up of industrial, fire, police, and power officials is being formed.

The incident's underlying cause was not identified, and the effects on Apple's business were not immediately apparent.

Ramanaiah says that the fire is currently under control and there were no casualties. Massive smoke plumes could be seen rising from the plant in the videos and pictures.

Based in Cupertino, California Since it started making iPhones there in 2017 through Wistron and later with Foxconn, in line with the Indian government's goal for local manufacturing, Apple has placed a significant bet on India.

Since there were multiple exits and the shift workers were already leaving for lunch, the evacuation happened quickly and without much difficulty.

As it continues to estimate the loss in collaboration with the fire and power services, the company has not yet filed an official complaint.

The fire was put out around 5 o'clock when fire crews were dispatched.
