Following a fire at a facility in southern India that forced the closure of the producer of iPhone charging cables, Foxlink, a Taiwanese supplier to Apple Inc., said it is making every effort to resume production.

This week, the factory, which is situated in India's Andhra Pradesh state's Chittoor district, is unlikely to restart full operations for two months, which raises supply chain issues for the U.S. tech giant.

A huge fire at Foxlink on Monday caused a portion of the structure to collapse, but no one was hurt.

In a statement to the Taiwan Stock Exchange, Foxlink stated that it is looking into the fire's origin and working diligently to resume production.

The site had been shut off by the fire service, and four production lines were known to be destroyed, the company stated in an earlier statement late on Tuesday.

The incident's underlying cause was not found, and it took some time to determine how it might affect Apple's operations.

The company's finances and activities have not yet been significantly impacted by the fire because the plant, equipment, and inventory are insured.

Before starting up again, the company will negotiate solutions for the impacted production capacity with its clients and suppliers.

J Ramanaiah, who oversees the state's Tirupati district's Disaster Emergency and Fire Services Department, claims that the facility's machinery sustained 50% damage and that half of the structure collapsed.

The facility's administration, underlining that nobody was wounded, put the damage at one billion Indian rupees ($12 million).

The incident's underlying cause was not found, and it took some time to determine how it might affect Apple's operations.

According to Ramanaiah, the fire is currently under control and no one was hurt. The footage and photographs showed enormous smoke plumes emerging from the plant.

A Cupertino, California-based company Apple has made a substantial investment in India when it began producing iPhones there in 2017 through Wistron and later with Foxconn, in keeping with the Indian government's desire for domestic manufacturing.
