Google Helps Indian Investigators Over Reported Fatal Car Accident
Google is lending a hand to Indian investigators to investigate the case of a reported car crash incident that claimed the lives of three individuals, upon using Google Maps for navigation.
Occurring on Sunday, reports state that the vehicle crashed into the Ramganga River from a bridge, which is still not completed, near the Dataganj Police Station.
The deceased are identified as Amit, 40, from Mainpuri district, and Nitin and Ajit, both 30 years old, from Farrukhabad district.
Word from the media says that the three were on their way from Noida to Bareilly's Faridpur to attend a wedding close to the Bareilly-Budaun border when the unfortunate turn of event happened.
According to reports, the three men's bodies were stuck inside the car and weren't found until about 9.30 a.m. the next day.
When police looked into it, they discovered that the GPS had driven the car over the bridge without the driver noticing that the bridge needed repairs.
The deceased are undergoing post-mortem examinations, and the incident is still being investigated.
Ashutosh Shivam, the local circle officer, noted that the unfortunate situation was additionally exacerbated by the absence of warning signs or safety barriers near the bridge that was still under construction.
However, it was also stated that the car was moving quickly before it crashed into the river.
After arriving at the scene, law enforcement teams from the Dataganj police station in Badaun, Bareilly, and Faridpur started the gruesome work of removing the vehicle and the victims from the river, according to Shivam.
The deceased are undergoing post-mortem examinations, and the incident is still being investigated.
