Google has launched the AI Mode feature for all users in India, designed to simplify the process of asking questions and providing useful AI-generated responses while allowing for a deeper exploration of topics online. This feature, which Google claims is its most advanced AI search experience to date, was first introduced as an experimental option in Labs last month in English.

"The feedback has been positive, with users appreciating its speed and response quality. We have observed people using it in various ways—from delving into topics for educational purposes to comprehending complex how-tos," Google states.

Now, this feature, driven by a tailored version of Gemini 2.5, will be accessible in Google Search, eliminating the need to register for Labs.

All functions that were part of the Labs release will be present, enabling you to type, speak, or even capture an image with Lens to obtain a detailed, comprehensive response along with helpful links, and to explore further through follow-up questions

The AI mode is multimodal, which allows users to pose their questions through voice or even by taking a photo to initiate a query. In the realm of artificial intelligence (AI), multimodal indicates the capability of an AI system to simultaneously handle and integrate data from various types of information sources.

As per Google, users can find this feature in a new dedicated tab within the Google app's search interface, available in English.

"All functions that were part of the Labs release will be present, enabling you to type, speak, or even capture an image with Lens to obtain a detailed, comprehensive response along with helpful links, and to explore further through follow-up questions," the company adds.
