HP to Expand its 'Renew' Program in India

In order to promote circularity and sustainability, HP plans to expand its 'Renew' program in India, which offers a variety of refurbished HP computer equipment.
According to reports, the business sees India as a major market for this strategy, not just because of the sheer size of the market, but also because of HP's existing brand presence in the nation, and is targeting governments and large private enterprises for this plan.
Refurbished electronics are previously owned equipment that has undergone an inspection, repair, and testing procedure in accordance with their manufacturer's standards and efficiency.
They are sold at a cheaper price than brand-new things, making them a more cost-effective option for buyers while still providing solid performance and some type of warranty.
At last week's Imagine event at their Palo Alto headquarters, HP revealed its first-ever PC restoration program, which it said would be the first tool in a suite of services dubbed Renew Solutions.
I think India is going to end up playing (a part) in all three of those (segments) and today, India is definitely going to play (a part) in two of them—the transactional one, where a customer or company wants to buy a refurbished device or has devices that they would like HP to refurbish for them, and the contractual segment, where customers want a little bit more flexible payment solution offering
Grant Hoffman, executive vice president and chief supply chain officer at Poly says “We have outlined the Renew Solutions business into three segments—transactional, contractual, and HP certified. I think India is going to end up playing (a part) in all three of those (segments) and today, India is definitely going to play (a part) in two of them—the transactional one, where a customer or company wants to buy a refurbished device or has devices that they would like HP to refurbish for them, and the contractual segment, where customers want a little bit more flexible payment solution offering.”
