IIT-Bombay Partners with Vertiv
IIT Bombay and Vertiv have revealed a strategic partnership focused on enhancing cooling solutions for AI-powered computing tasks in data centres, a vital sector as India speeds up its digital and technological development.
This partnership enhances Vertiv’s current alliances with numerous educational institutions and IITs nationwide, focusing on cultivating the skilled workforce needed for data centre operation and maintenance while assisting the industry in addressing its talent gap.
With AI transforming sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, and urban development, the need for reliable, high-performance computing infrastructure has risen considerably. Addressing this increase necessitates innovative approaches, robust engineering principles, and cooperative creativity between the private sector and educational institutions.
The collaboration between Vertiv and IIT Bombay leverages the capabilities of both organizations to tackle new challenges and equip future engineers for the changing digital environment.

The initiative was formalized with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director of IIT Bombay, and Subhasis Majumdar, Managing Director at Vertiv India, emphasizing a joint dedication to enhancing India’s technological abilities in alignment with the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
