The plant has been set up across 56 acres land in Tamil Nadu which generates more than 22 million unit of renewable energy annually for ITC’s hotels, food manufacturing plants, paper manufacturing facility, and printing and packaging factories.
The plant is built using latest solar technologies and systematized with all national and international standards on design and safety.
Sanjiv Rangrass, Group Head, ITC Life Sciences & Technology says, “our large-scale investments in renewable energy assets are an integral part of our low carbon strategy aimed at making a meaningful contribution to a net zero economy.”
By considering ITC’s high engagement with the agricultural sector, there are high hopes that other corporates will reconsider and target to go completely green.
ITC also concentrates in reduction of 50 percent emission and 30 percent decrease in specific energy consumption by 2030 over a 2014-15 baseline.
