L&T Semiconductor Technologies Introduces Cellular IoT Module Division

In a significant advancement for the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India' initiatives, L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited (LTSCT) revealed its entry into the cellular IoT module sector during ‘CES 2026’.

The launch enables OEMs and device manufacturers to swiftly incorporate pre-certified 4G modules into smart devices including energy meters, industrial sensors, and connected vehicles.

This signifies a significant advancement for India’s electronics sector, greatly speeding up product development and reducing R&D costs for producers, while aiming at both local and international markets, as reported by the company, a fully-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro (L&T).

Savi Soin, Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm India, stated that Qualcomm views India as an essential center for hardware innovation and smart infrastructure.

The company launched its initial module, driven by Qualcomm, designed to assist device manufacturers in various sectors to integrate connectivity efficiently, affordably, and on a large scale. The proposal positions LTSCT as a reliable collaborator for smart device advancement, aligned with essential government initiatives and the demands of a fast-changing market.

As IoT adoption increases in automotive, energy, logistics, agriculture, manufacturing, and smart cities, the need for ready-to-use connectivity solutions is rapidly expanding.
