Microsoft to Host Elon Musk's Grok AI model

Reports indicate that Microsoft is preparing to launch Elon Musk's Grok AI model. The technology giant has engaged in talks with Musk's AI company xAI in the past few weeks to host the Grok model and provide it to customers, including Microsoft's own product teams via its Azure cloud service.
Grok will be accessible on Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft's developer platform that offers AI tools and models to assist in hosting, running, and managing AI-powered applications.
Strains have heightened between Sam Altman, the CEO of ChatGPT creator and Microsoft collaborator OpenAI, and Musk - a co-founder of OpenAI who departed the company in 2018 prior to its rapid expansion.
The duo is in a dispute regarding OpenAI's future. Last year, Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and Altman, claiming they had forsaken the initial aim of the startup to create AI for the advantage of humanity rather than for profit.
Last month, OpenAI filed a countersuit against Musk.
Microsoft is considering exclusively offering the capacity to host the Grok model, rather than providing servers for training subsequent models.
It was uncertain if Microsoft would secure an exclusive agreement for hosting the Grok AI model, or if other cloud services like Amazon's AWS would have the opportunity to host it as well.
