Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has entered India’s ice cream market with the launch of Bombay Creamery, positioning it as an affordable premium dairy ice cream brand.

The company said Bombay Creamery is made using genuine dairy ingredients and aims to offer consumers a premium ice cream experience at accessible prices. The launch marks RCPL’s formal entry into the category as the company looks to leverage its extensive distribution network, retail presence, and consumer insights to build a long-term presence in the ice cream segment.

According to RCPL, Bombay Creamery’s portfolio is centered on the use of authentic dairy ingredients and consistent quality. The positioning aligns with Reliance Consumer Products’ broader proposition of providing “Global Quality at Affordable Price.”

T Krishnakumar, Director of Reliance Consumer Products Limited, said the brand was founded on the belief that dairy products should not involve compromises on quality.

“We established Bombay Creamery based on a straightforward concept that dairy should not require compromises,” Krishnakumar said.

He added that the company is not simply entering the ice cream market but is making a long-term commitment to the category.

With Bombay Creamery, RCPL is now set to compete in India’s growing ice cream market, targeting consumers seeking a combination of dairy-based products, premium positioning, and affordability

Bombay Creamery will offer ice creams across multiple formats, including cones, cups, tubs, bars, and sticks. Prices will start at Rs 10, making the products accessible to a broad consumer base, the company said.

The brand will initially be launched across western India, with RCPL planning a nationwide rollout at a later stage.
