Wipro Acquires HARMAN's Digital Transformation Solutions
Renowned IT company Wipro has successfully finalized the purchase of HARMAN's Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) division for $375 million after receiving approval from regulatory authorities. Wipro announced the agreement on August 21, 2025.
Following the successful completion of the deal, the company will commence operations as a division of Wipro's global engineering business line, according to Wipro.
“The acquisition of DTS marks a significant milestone in Wipro’s commitment to advance AI capabilities, engineering innovation and R&D excellence,” the company says.

According to the deal, over 5,600 DTS staff members, including top management, from the Americas, Europe, and Asia, will transition to Wipro.
“The AI solutions from Harman will be seamlessly integrated with Wipro Intelligence — our AI-powered suite of platforms, solutions, and transformative offerings. The acquisition will enable Wipro to deliver truly differentiated and connected next-generation experiences and reinforce its standing as a global leader in engineering services,” the company says.
Srikumar Rao, who is the Managing Partner and Global Head of Engineering at Wipro, mentioned that acquiring the DTS unit of HARMAN, a Samsung company, will improve the company's capacity to provide AI-driven, comprehensive engineering services.

Following the successful completion of the deal, the company will commence operations as a division of Wipro's global engineering business line, according to Wipro.
Rao also mentioned that the purchase improves Wipro's capacity to innovate on a large scale, provide tangible business benefits, and aid in intricate transformations within various industries.
Wipro has previously formed a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development (FSID) to work together on advanced research and innovation in emerging technologies.
The partnership is strengthened by the resources provided by the Wipro Innovation Network, which is a key component of the Wipro Intelligence™ suite of AI-driven products and services.

The focus is on collaborating to innovate, speeding up business transformation, and providing customizable AI solutions.
Wipro and IISc have agreed to collaborate on a joint research program that will center on quantum computing, advanced AI models, secure digital infrastructure, and innovative strategies for autonomous networks.
This initiative will involve senior faculty, researchers, and scientists from IISc working alongside Wipro’s engineers, architects, and technologists. The partnership aims to strengthen Wipro’s capacity to provide cutting-edge AI-powered solutions in industries like telecom, manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare.
