To set up a new semiconductor assembly and testing facility at Hyderabad's Electronic Manufacturing Cluster, ASIP (Advanced System in Package Technologies) joins hands with APACT, a Korean business.

Together with APACT’s strength the project is expected to improve the global supply chain while meeting domestic needs, representing a critical turning point in India's semiconductor history. Meanwhile, ASIP, also known for its unwavering commitment, will also provide turn-key solutions through best caliber and support.

Named OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Testing) and ATMP (Assembly Testing Marking and Packing) these units promise to provide full turn-key solutions packaging design, bumping, assembly, testing, and dropshipping, and the works for them are set to commence next year.

As regards to the location at Hyderabad’s EMC, the facility is expected to make India stand on a high ground in the semiconductor industry. Dr. V. K. Saraswat appreciated ASIP for selecting Hyderabad as its location, highlighting the city's conducive business environment and policies.

According to the company, the worldwide OSAT market is projected to be worth $51.71 billion in 2023 and rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.07 percent to reach $76.23 billion by 2028.

With its strategic posture to significantly impact India's semiconductor landscape and worldwide competitiveness, ASIP's venture is well-aligned with this trend.

Both projects were initiated by Dr. VK Saraswat of NITI Aayog, Dr. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy of the Telangana government, and prominent members of the industry who believe to greatly advance the nation’s semiconductor manufacturing skills.

With these projects, ASIP became the first company in the nation to offer OSAT/ATMP products on a commercial basis.

In agreement, Dr. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy emphasized the contribution of ASIP to bolstering Telangana's standing as a top semiconductor location. The CEO of ASIP, Venkata Simhadri, stressed the company's objective of advancing the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) value chain by utilizing Hyderabad's talent pool and facilities.

With APACT contributing its knowledge and technology to support ASIP's endeavors, the collaboration between ASIP and APACT represents a significant turning point in the history of semiconductors in India. ASIP and IIT Hyderabad's dedication to innovation and skill development is further demonstrated by their signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Forecasts suggest that the OSAT market will increase significantly in the upcoming years as a result of the tremendous growth it is experiencing due to technical advancements. With its strategic posture to significantly impact India's semiconductor landscape and worldwide competitiveness, ASIP's venture is well-aligned with this trend.
