Flender, a worldwide supplier of drivetrain solutions for the wind sector opened a new generator production facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, bolstering its manufacturing presence and catering to the increasing demand for wind energy solutions in India.

The new facility, functioning under Flender's Winergy brand, enhances the company's capabilities throughout the wind drivetrain value chain. Winergy combines knowledge across gearboxes, generators, direct-drive segments, couplings, and multibrand drivetrain services, allowing Flender to assist customers with comprehensive solutions for wind turbines.

The opening event was graced by customers, suppliers, and important stakeholders from all sectors of the wind energy value chain.

The Chennai facility represents a significant advancement in Flender’s approach to grow its wind operations in India while enhancing the local sourcing of its manufacturing and supply-chain processes. The company is further developing local capabilities via integrated winding operations, which aids in boosting manufacturing capacity nearer to its customers.
