Hero MotoCorp and Accenture have teamed up to reduce costs throughout its supply chain as the two-wheeler manufacturer gets ready to go global and enter the electric vehicles market.

Supply chain strategy, planning optimization, logistics cost optimization, and creation of an end-to-end digital supply chain suite would all be covered by the agreement. By doing so, the two-wheeler industry leader would be able to manage the growing complexity of its goods, markets, and supply chain.

Accenture said that it would support Hero MotoCorp's supply chain cost optimization efforts by using its Zero-Based Supply Chain (ZBSC) strategy.

To improve supply chain and logistics planning, it will also implement a supply chain control tower that is powered by data and analytics.

As we expand our global footprint and foray into EVs, navigating the complex global supply chain network will be crucial in driving our future growth, states Hero MotoCorp Chief Procurement & Supply Chain Officer Ram Kuppuswamy.

Manish Chandra, Accenture’s supply chain & operations lead in India, says, “The need for resilient supply chains has never been more important. Our program will provide Hero MotoCorp with improved visibility across its supply chain, enabling the company to better meet its customer requirements and quickly respond to ongoing disruption while significantly optimizing supply chain costs."

The digital supply chain platform will give Hero MotoCorp's corporate decision-makers broader visibility into the company's operations by using artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities. Additionally, Accenture will assist Hero MotoCorp in developing the necessary workforce skills and competencies in data and analytics, supply chain planning, and logistics.

Global professional services provider Accenture has industry-leading expertise in digital, cloud, and security.

In terms of the number of units sold by a single firm in a year, Hero MotoCorp Ltd., which has its headquarters in New Delhi (India), is the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters.

Manish Chandra, Accenture’s supply chain & operations lead in India, says, “The need for resilient supply chains has never been more important.
