IBM Acquires Neudesic

Tech major IBM acquires Cloud services consultancy firm Neudesic, specializing in Microsoft Azure platform, for an undisclosed sum.

IBM and Neudesic signed a definitive agreement leading to the acquisition in IBM's fourth quarter 2021, according to the reports.

Headquartered in California, Neudesic has more than 1,500 Cloud and data experts across the US and in India. Neudesic provides deep expertise in technology transformation, delivering Microsoft Azure cloud services to clients across the health and life sciences, financial services, energy and utilities, professional services and retail industries.

John Granger, Senior Vice President, IBM says, “Neudesic adds deep Azure cloud, data engineering and data analytics expertise to accelerate our clients' hybrid cloud journeys.”

Reports suggest that IBM has acquired over 20 companies, 12 in IBM Consulting alone since Arvind Krishna became CEO in April 2020.

Judson Althoff, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Microsoft says, “ Neudesic and Microsoft are enabling enterprises to achieve their business outcomes with Azure platform, leveraging a combination of services and IP.”

IBM produces and sells computer hardware, middleware and software, and provides hosting and consulting services in areas ranging from mainframe computers to nanotechnology. IBM is also a major research organization, holding the record for most annual U.S. patents generated by a business (as of 2020) for 28 consecutive years.

IBM's tabulating equipment enabled organizations to process huge amounts of data. Its clients included the U.S. Government, during its first effort to maintain the employment records for 26 million people pursuant to the Social Security Act.
