Manipal Hospitals, India’s second largest healthcare provider, is partnering with Google Cloud to improve patient care and the hospital chain’s network efficiency.

Manipal Hospitals will leverage Google Cloud’s technology, enabling virtual care services across its chain of hospitals in the country, create a new e-pharmacy platform and build a remote patient monitoring system.

“The partnership with Google Cloud will enable us to solve some of our most complex medical issues using innovative technology, better anticipate the needs of the people we serve, and improve access to care, whenever and wherever patients need us,” says Dilip Jose, MD & CEO, Manipal Hospitals.

The hospital chain leverages Google technology to build multi-channel, conversational AI experiences across booking appointments, finding doctors, and other critical patient tasks.

“With Google Cloud’s technology and Manipal’s healthcare expertise, we have a unique opportunity to help the hospital network develop features that can dramatically improve the lives of people across the country”, says Bedi

“Google Cloud technology and Manipal’s healthcare expertise provide us with a unique opportunity to help hospital networks develop capabilities that can dramatically improve the lives of people across the country”, says Bikram Singh Bedi, Managing Director of Google Cloud India.

As part of this partnership, Manipal Hospitals will deploy the Amwell platform to enable virtual visits, opening up access to people in locations where the hospital doesn’t have a physical presence. Amwell is a digital care delivery enablement platform in the US and globally, connecting providers, insurers and patients and helping deliver better access to affordable, higher quality care.

“This will help drive penetration of Manipal’s clinical healthcare services in Tier II and III markets where we are not yet present,” says Karthik.

The hospital chain will leverage Google’s technology to build multichannel conversational AI experiences across its appointment booking, searching for doctors, and other important patient tasks.

“Data-driven innovation is growing exponentially in healthcare, and this collaboration will help Manipal Hospitals use data, AI, and machine learning (ML) to improve patient experiences and outcomes,” adds Bedi.

“With Google Cloud’s technology and Manipal’s healthcare expertise, we have a unique opportunity to help the hospital network develop features that can dramatically improve the lives of people across the country”, says Bedi.

Manipal Hospitals has a pan-India footprint of 27 hospitals across 15 cities and will gradually roll these services across its network.
