MSC Industrial Supply Co., and Google Cloud have established a partnership that will aid MSC's digital transformation and migrate to a cloud-first organization. MSC Industrial Supply Co., a US-based industrial equipment distributor will heed Google Cloud’s support for its company-wide initiative to use data to fuel its business systems and upgrade its core business and IT infrastructure in the cloud.

Google Cloud is widely known for providing enterprise-grade cloud solutions that use Google's cutting-edge technology to help businesses run more efficiently and adapt to changing needs, laying the groundwork for the future. Even customers from over 200 countries seek its support as a trusted partner to solve their most pressing business issues.

Likewise MSC has migrated its SAP systems into a Google Cloud environment as part of this transition to increase scalability and flexibility. As such, the former is able to use cloud analytics capabilities and extract more value from its existing business data, including data from SAP applications.

MSC has also implemented a new data cloud, which uses Google Cloud products such as BigQuery to drastically shorten the time it takes to manage and analyze data.

Charlie Bonomo, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, MSC commenting upon the occasion, his company has undertaken a digital transformation aiming to create a world-class customer experience. The first step towards a more flexible and scalable platform to support our customers and suppliers is modernizing business critical infrastructure in the cloud.

MSC was able to swiftly begin benefiting from cloud scalability, dependability, and performance with little disruption to its business operations thanks to Google Cloud and SAP's partnership under its RISE with SAP initiative. The decision to run S4/HANA PCE on Google Cloud also enabled MSC to take advantage of Google Cloud's data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine-learning capabilities, allowing it to better manage and analyze complex data from SAP systems and other areas of the organization.

“We are delighted to work with Google Cloud as one of our transformation partners in building a new foundation to support MSC’s growth and success for years to come", expressed Bonomo.

MSC has completed a successful migration to SAP S/4HANA Cloud private edition, which is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure.

“By bringing its SAP systems and critical data services onto Google Cloud, MSC is building the business infrastructure it needs to provide stellar service and value to its customers, derive maximum value from its data, and sustainably scale its business. Hence, we are proud that MSC has selected Google Cloud to support its digital transformation”, said Rob Enslin, President, Google Cloud.

MSC's data scientists can now identify business insights and possibilities with much greater speed thanks to BigQuery. The cloud has democratized access to critical data across MSC's operations, allowing all of its teams to make more informed decisions and freeing up our associates to focus on the most important strategic priorities.
