The NHAI and Reliance Jio have made an agreement to implement a safety alert system on the national highways of India. This system will send warnings to travelers through mobile alerts when they are approaching hazardous locations, including accident-prone areas, places with stray cattle, regions affected by fog, and emergency detours.

NHAI stated that the automated system will be operational for all Jio users who are traveling on or near national highways.

The system will utilize the existing telecom towers, enabling fast deployment without the requirement of roadside hardware.
