Varun Dhawan Joins Better Nutrition to Promote Biofortified Food
Better Nutrition, a brand specializing in biofortified staples like atta, dal, rice, and millets, has named actor Varun Dhawan as both an investor and brand ambassador. The organization is based on Dhawan’s individual farming experience, which started with his desire to enhance the quality of food produced on his own property.
The actor teams up with the brand along with its current ambassador, PV Sindhu. His involvement with Better Nutrition started when he obtained agricultural land and began investigating soil health, seeds, and the nutritional value of the crops produced on his farm. This directed him towards the company's strategy for biofortification, which seeks to improve the nutritional value of essential crops.
As a member of the association, Dhawan is putting money into Better Nutrition, while his farm will be transformed into a biofortified farm in partnership with the company.
Commenting on the collaboration, Varun Dhawan mentioned, “We’re collaborating to enhance the biofortification of my farm. And yes, Better Nutrition is also my brand now. I truly appreciate the purpose behind it, and I wish to join that endeavor. You’ll be encountering much more of me with my brand. "This is very personal for me."
Better Nutrition utilizes biofortified seeds, soil research, and on-farm testing to cultivate crops enriched with greater amounts of vital micronutrients. The firm employs X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) technology to assess and confirm nutrient concentrations at the source prior to transforming the crops into common staples.
Its product range features atta, rice, pulses, and millets, marketed as staple food choices that offer nutritional advantages without needing consumers to alter their typical eating patterns. The company states that its products have levels of iron, zinc, and other crucial micronutrients that are up to double. The collection can be accessed via top quick-commerce platforms and its official website.
The project aims to assist Better Nutrition in locating farms where it can implement its seed, soil, and farm-level testing skills while creating a broader network of farms investigating biofortification
The company indicated that interest in biofortified agriculture has spread beyond Dhawan’s own fields. After the actor’s videos and the launch of his farming initiative, Better Nutrition fielded inquiries from landowners eager to transform their acreage to biofortified agriculture.
In reply, the company has launched applications for its Biofortified Farm program via its website. Farm proprietors can provide their information for assessment to establish their farms’ eligibility for the program.
