Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan declared that Karnataka's annual flagship event, the 'Bengaluru Tech Summit-2021', will be hosted in a hybrid mode dated November 17-19 to foster better collaboration between industry, academia, and customers. The three-day meeting will be inaugurated on November 17 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Moreover, we are also seeking the presence of the newly elected and first female Vice President of the US, Kamala Harris, said Narayan, the man carrying portfolios such as IT, BT and Science and Technology.

With a lot of arrivals and revolutions taking place, like Tesla's entry, Sony India's 'Zero Environment Footprint, and more, the tagline for this year’s summit is also interwoven with revolution and transformation. As Narayan has christened the tagline as ‘Drive the Next’ and will be held in a hybrid mode with a minimal physical participation.

Similar to Apple's WWDC, Google's I/O, Computex and almost every event that happened virtually, the same happened to last year’s Bengaluru Tech Summit, as Narayan recalls the event garnered an incredible response from experts and attendees from 25 nations all over the world.

The three day event revolve around one theme fixed for each day starting with 'Thought Leadership' (Hall of Fame) on the first day, followed by 'Technologies and Strategies' (Hall of Techies) on the second day, and 'Startups' on the third day (Hall of Future).

To encourage more participation by academia and specialists, the state-run Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and the state Higher Education Council will be involved in the event.

But that’s not all, in fact, during September and October events will be conducted beyond Bengaluru at Hubballi, Mangaluru and Mysuru to promote the event from wider participation from all stakeholders.

"During the 'Beyond Bengaluru' events, reports on the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), engineering R&D, and the Indian Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) will be released", said Narayan.

Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Harsh Vardhan, and Nitin Gadkari will be invited to speak at the event by the state government.

To encourage more participation by academia and specialists, the state-run Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and the state Higher Education Council will be involved in the event.

Last year the valedictory function was presided by Shri Jagadish Shettar, Minister of Large and Medium Scale Industries, Government of Karnataka, Shri B.C. Patil, Minister of Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka, Shri Basavaraj Bommai, Minister of Home Department, Government of Karnataka, Dr. K Sudhakar, Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education, Government of Karnataka.

Speaking on the occasion the Minister expressed that “the COVID-19 pandemic has underlined the necessity for rapid innovation, biotechnology-information-technology synergy, and worldwide cooperation. BTS 2020 is the appropriate vehicle for realizing these objectives. Our government is dedicated to ensuring that these technologies and breakthroughs are developed in Karnataka for the benefit of the rest of the world, in collaboration with great minds, and to improve the lives of ordinary people”.

The Chairmen and Members of the three Vision Groups on IT, Biotech, and Start-ups guided the Summit's 23rd edition. For the first time, an International Advisory Group was constituted to guarantee that the conference was designed with a global perspective in mind. BTS is the first event in India that brings together India's premier cross-sectoral industry groups on a single platform, including NASSCOM, TiE, ELCIA, IESA, ABAI, ABLE, CLIK, and IACC.
