Google Cloud India has opened a new cloud region in Delhi NCR to better serve customers and the public sector, to formulate highly accessible applications for their customers, in the country and throughout Asia-Pacific. This ranks the Delhi NCR region as the second Google Cloud region in India and 10th in the Asia Pacific regions.

Thomas Kurian, CEO, Google Cloud, stated, "our commitment to India is for India, by India. As a result of this, we are seeing success not just in America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, but also in the number of major companies throughout the world”, he stated.

Google Cloud customers in India will benefit from low latency and great performance for their cloud-based workloads and data thanks to this new region. Since the region is designed for high availability and equipped with three availability zones, it can now protect service disruptions and a range of key products. Compute Engine, App Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Bigtable, Cloud Spanner, and BigQuery are some of the services available.

“As we slowly emerge from the crisis of the last 18 months, we're refocusing our efforts on assisting Indian businesses in accelerating their digital transformations, deepening our commitment to India's digitisation and economic recovery,” said Bikram Singh Bedi, managing director, Google Cloud India.

“We've had the good fortune to work with and serve people, businesses, and government agencies across the world”, Bedi added.

“Despite the fact that the last year has been really challenging for everyone, we've seen India's resilience. It's a huge honor for us to support larger companies, such as government agencies, as well as individuals who are beginning businesses in India and want to employ the same technology that powers Google's products", expressed Kurian.

Google Cloud's workforce in India has grown dramatically, observed Kurian. “Bikram (Bedi) and his team focus on the market and customer service, but we've also greatly expanded our engineering and development facilities in Bengaluru and Hyderabad”, Kurian said.

Much to the disaster recovery part, income for multi-region and disaster recovery use cases is enabled for clients in the Delhi NCR region. It presents a unique value proposition for companies in regulated industries looking for disaster recovery solutions that are located far away. Customers will be able to use Interconnect to create private connections with current partners in the Delhi NCR region.

Google claims that the distributed, secure architecture required to meet IT and business needs for disaster recovery while protecting data sovereignty will help them improve business continuity planning.

What’s more is that HDFC Bank is banking on technology platforms to administer and expand the bank. Also, it plans on investing in future technologies for scaling, efficiency, and resiliency as it develops toward being future ready.

"The Google Cloud region in Delhi NCR will help us establish an active-active design framework for our new generation cloud applications", said Ramesh Lakshminarayanan, HDFC Bank's CIO.

On the other hand, the Co-founder and Group CTO of InMobi, Mohit Saxena, believes that with the launch of the Google Cloud Delhi NCR region, the InMobi Group will be able to continue to bridge the gap between our users and products.

Soon followed by Neeraj Singh, co-founder, and chief technology officer, investment platform, Groww, expressed that Google Cloud’s great technology will allow Groww to grow and scale infrastructure to millions of customers. The new Google Cloud region in Delhi NCR will enable more Indian enterprises and startups gain access to powerful cloud-based infrastructure, products, and services.

Moreover, speaking of cybersecurity when organizations move data to the cloud, Kurian stated how they would require the need for the best cybersecurity tools to protect their data, applications and users.

Hence, Kurian said that “we provide a wide variety of cybersecurity protection. We protect users' applications and data in the Google Cloud, which is one of the most critical aspects of what we do. Therefore, we have encryption, confidential computing, network security, and other tools”.

Google Cloud is also recognized for its work with TVS, a vehicle manufacturer that has created a digital environment for a variety of automobile dealers and garages. These tools assist them in providing superior knowledge, understanding, analytics, and insight to all members of their digital ecosystem. The company also assists businesses in collaborating on documents and drives and storing them on a uniform platform known as Google Workspace.

“It's not just for office workers, but it's also for front-line personnel. This technology is used by many hospitals to provide improved patient care”, Kurian stated.

Google Cloud, according to Kurian, is said to be investing in education, training, and transferring its inventive spirit to India.

“Despite the fact that the last year has been really challenging for everyone, we've seen India's resilience. It's a huge honor for us to support larger companies, such as government agencies, as well as individuals who are beginning businesses in India and want to employ the same technology that powers Google's products", expressed Kurian.

With Google’s high-performance network, Delhi NCR region has now jumped to the existing 25 Google Cloud regions connected. As a result, it will be able to help customers better serve their users throughout the globe.

“The Google Cloud region in Delhi NCR will assist our customers in adapting to changing requirements, possibilities, and working styles,” Bedi said.
