Most multi-billion dollar businessmen, from Bill Gates to Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, Tim Cook, and Elon Musk are inextricably related to the technological world. That shouldn't be surprising, given that tech forms one aspect or another of the basic foundation of the postmodern 21st century. The society in which they live and succeed is where business leaders are born and raised. But not all professionals from the fields of computation, number crunching, and programming successfully transfer to leadership positions. Here is the five leadership transition of 2023 in the technology industry:

Cognizant Appoints Former Infosys President Ravi Kumar S as Chief Executive Officer
Cognizant, a major provider of IT services, named former Infosys President Ravi Kumar S as its new CEO and a board member after Brian Humphries. Kumar had earlier been welcomed by Cognizant as President of Cognizant Americas. The business has revealed that Surya Gummadi has been appointed President of Cognizant Americas in connection with the CEO transfer.

After a 20-year career at Infosys, where Kumar held a number of leadership positions, including most recently serving as President from January 2016 through October 2022, Kumar joined Cognizant. Kumar oversaw the Infosys Global Services Organization's operations across all international industrial sectors, directing the service lines for data & analytics, consulting, technology, engineering, data & analytics, cloud and infrastructure, and enterprise package applications.

K Krithivasan Appointed CEO Designate of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)
K Krithivasan has been named the company's CEO-designate. He now holds the positions of President and Global Head of the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) business group at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Krithivasan joined TCS in 1989 and has subsequently held a number of leadership positions in delivery, customer relationship management, big program management, and sales over his more than 34 years of expertise in the global technology sector. In addition to his position at TCS, Krithivasan is a member of the supervisory board of TCS Technology Solutions AG as well as the boards of TCS Iberoamerica and TCS Ireland. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical from the University of Madras and a Master of Engineering in Industrial and Management from IIT Kanpur.

Tech Mahindra Spurts on Appointment of Mohit Joshi as MD & CEO
CP Gurnani will step down as MD & CEO on December 19, 2023, and be replaced by Mohit Joshi. But according to the business, he will join Tech Mahindra much earlier to give himself enough time for the transfer. Mohit Joshi, who most recently served as the president of Infosys, will join Tech Mahindra. Mohit has worked with the biggest firms in the world to drive digital transformation and create successful businesses. Mohit has over twenty years of expertise in the enterprise technology software & consulting area.

Mohit will complement Tech Mahindra's strategies and maintain the company's strong growth momentum. Mohit has experience with digital transformation, new technologies, and significant acquisitions

Joshi oversaw the software division of Infosys, which comprised the AI/automation portfolio and Finacle, the banking platform. He also oversaw the company's worldwide financial services and healthcare divisions. Additionally, he oversaw Infosys' sales operations and transformation and had executive responsibility for all the company's significant transactions. Additionally, he was in charge of the Infosys Knowledge Institute and the internal CIO function of the business. Mohit's appointment is the fruit of a careful selection process in which the NRC assessed a number of internal and external candidates, according to T. N. Manoharan, chairwoman of Tech Mahindra NRC.

Mohit will complement Tech Mahindra's strategies and maintain the company's strong growth momentum. Mohit has experience with digital transformation, new technologies, and significant acquisitions.

Google Appoints Manufacturing and Policy Veteran Sreenivasa Reddy as its Top Government Affairs Executive in India
Sreenivasa Reddy, a veteran of manufacturing and public policy, is reportedly in line to become Google's senior government affairs executive in India. With this hiring, the corporation hopes to expand hardware manufacturing across the nation and address legal issues. At Microsoft, Reddy is currently a senior engineering executive. According to the story, he will probably join Google near the end of this year. Reddy formerly worked for Apple's India regulatory division in addition to Microsoft. Additionally, he held a top role with Swedish telecom equipment manufacturer Ericsson AB. Google is now in discussions with a number of suppliers about shifting the manufacturing of its Pixel devices to India. It's thought that the business would begin producing in India with Pixel.

Vikas Purohit as Director of Global Business Group Meta India
Vikas Purohit is appointed by Meta as the director of a global business group in India to oversee the company's approach to collaborating with advertisers and agency partners. Purohit is in charge of the company's partnerships with the major brands and advertising agencies in the country in order to boost Meta's revenue development across crucial channels in India and hasten the adoption of digital tools by the biggest advertisers and agencies. The primary business verticals, agency teams, and business solutions teams of Meta report to Arun Srinivas, director and head of the ads business for Meta in India and Purohit also reports to him. Purohit started working for the Aditya Birla group before moving on to Tommy Hilfiger and Reliance Brands Limited. He was instrumental in creating and overseeing Amazon Fashion while there.

From 1996 to 2000, he completed his B. Tech. in mechanical engineering at the IIT (BHU) in Varanasi. Additionally, he has an IIM-B Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM). In June 2002, Purohit began his career with the Aditya Birla Group as a Management Trainee. He departed the company in August 2006 as the Brand Initiatives Manager for Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. He started working for Tommy Hilfiger in Bengaluru as its Head of Business Operations. He changed jobs in March 2008 and began working in Mumbai as the Head of Retail for Reliance Brands Limited. He began working with Planet Retail in July 2010 as its COO and was based in Mumbai. He moved to Bengaluru in June 2012 and started working for Amazon as the Director and Head of Amazon Fashion. In December 2016, Purohit returned to Mumbai as COO of Tata CLiQ and was promoted to CEO in June 2018. This was his final profile before joining Meta India.
