Google's Pixel 6 Series is Not One to Debut in the Upcoming Fall Event

Separator

Just when Amazon’s fall event set sail, Google is gearing up to host its fall event supposedly to take place on October 5th, 2021. The tech giant has piqued the interest of its audience ever since it revealed its Pixel 6 series.

The camera specifications, performances, CPU setup, variable refresh rate, wireless charging speed, and even fabric cases for the smartphone have all been disclosed. On the internet, there is even a hands-on video. Rumors say that the event might bring Google Nest, Travel and Map products to the table and vehicle it’s at, it might drop in new sound speakers as well as smart home appliances.

Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro May not Show Up!
Rumors circulating on the web imply that the tech giant’s latest smartphones may not make it to the event but are said to be released on any date halfway through the month. As a result, while Google may stage an official event on October 5, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are unlikely to be launched on that day for the time being.

A fresh design, larger camera modules, and even the use of Google's latest Tensor processor, which is incorporated in the phones, are all part of this. Both the ordinary Pixel 6 and the Pro edition are expected to have a 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, with the Pro model perhaps potentially having a 48MP telephoto lens.

Around the same occasion, Google could make an announcement regarding its first foldable phone. With that said, here are the features that entail around it.

What to Expect in the new Google Pixel Foldable Phone
Google's Pixel foldable smartphone has been the talk for quite a while now and new leaks imply that it will be released by the end of the year. The foldable Pixel smartphone is said to include a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) OLED panel and will be code-named passport. Samsung's foldable products, such as the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3, have taken advantage of the market for folding screens. Foldable smartphones, on the other hand, appear to be growing more popular as a form factor for high-end smartphones. Vivo and Xiaomi, among others, are said to be developing new foldable smartphones.

Having said that the tech giant has been burning its night oil with this one for more than two years, the yet to land foldable phone might drop by the end of the year and will be code named as Passport. It was not until 2019 that Google had given clues that it’s busy working on foldable smartphone prototypes.

When it comes to teasers around its devices, the tech giant was not born yesterday that it had not yet teased its Google Pixel Fold. In fact, David Naranjo, Senior Director, Display Supply Chain Consultants, tweeted about the Google Pixel Fold's development. According to his post, the phone could be released in the fourth quarter of 2021. (October 1 to December 31). The Google Pixel Fold may also include an LTPO OLED panel. Google Pixel 6 Pro will also be released in the same period, according to the expert.

In Android 10, the tech giant added support for flexible displays, which was used by companies like Samsung to make their own foldable phones. With the impending Google Pixel Fold, the tech giant can likely compete with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 2, as well as the recently released Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.

prior to the fall event, the tech giant might launch its Android 12 beta 5

Specs of the Foldable Phone
Clearly, a folding screen of some sort will be the most significant addition to the Pixel feature set. It's unclear whether the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Huawei Mate X2 use the side-by-side technique or the vertical position used by the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr 5G. It's also possible that Google will go with the more traditional two-panel design that Microsoft introduced with the Surface Duo.

Earlier it was rumored that the tech giant might take on the Samsung's Fold series, in fact, that it will purchase a Samsung screen. In terms of the remainder of the specs in Google's first foldable, the company may go in a few different directions. The versions from Samsung and Huawei were all crammed with cutting-edge processors and other components, which presumably didn't help with the high costs. To the dismay of some, Motorola chose to debut the first Razr (2019) with a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, and then upgraded it to a Snapdragon 765G for the Razr 5G.

However, prior to the fall event, the tech giant might launch its Android 12 beta 5 and here’s a look at it below.

Personalize to the Heart's Content with Android 12
Google recently released Android 12 beta 5 for supported devices, instilling hope that there’s a possible release date for Android 12.

The fact that the operating system's source code is available on AOSP gives OEMs like Samsung, Motorola, OnePlus, and Xiaomi access to use it to create their own Android 12-based custom skins. The development of Android 12-based skins such as OxygenOS 12 and OneUI 4.0 will be sped up as a result of this.

However, previously, the stable launch of the stock Android system upgrade for the Pixel phones has corresponded with the release date of a new update's source code on AOSP. For instance, the Android 11 source code as well as the first stable update for compatible Pixel phones were both released.

Android 12 is expected to offer a significant change to the operating system's aesthetic appearance and experience. A new Material You design language will be included in the update, with a focus on personalization. Meaning, this new UI is part of Google's 'Material You' concept, aims to make Android as personalized as possible, as announced on the first day of Google I/O. The concept design reflects the software giant's re imagining of how people interact with their smartphones. When the user installs a new wallpaper in Android, for example, they will be asked if they also want to install a new theme based on the same colors as the wallpaper. The applied theme's colors will be displayed in the notification shade, lock screen widgets, Google's first-party apps, and even third-party apps if developers choose to embrace the new design change.

A new Privacy Dashboard will also be included in the next version, which will serve as a one-stop shop for fine-tuning all permissions and privacy-related settings.
